In my Fuze sansa V1 0781 74c1 Sansa Fuze (MSC), when I turn on the device, I get a lot of *Panic* always i made something on the sd card.
The error:
"*PANIC*
SD Xfer read err:0x8 Disk1"
my uSD Card: kingston 32GB microSD HC Class 4
Last firmware and last RockBox.
No problem with Sansa software.

Please state the exact Rockbox version. Since dozens of versions are made per day on busy days, "latest" changes constantly. Also, we don't know if you mean latest release or latest development build or what.
-
Rockbox 3.7.1
-
So you chose to install the release version, and not a current build?
-
I tryed also current build but problem not solve

Could you state the version so its 100% clear what you did?
-
- i Tested RockBox:
3.7.1, r28901-101226 and also r28903-101226 - Devices:
Fuze Sansa V1 0781 74c1 (MSC)
new uSD Card Kingston 32GB microSD HC Class 4 - Error:
*PANIC*
SD Xfer read err:0x8 Disk1
The uSD work fine with Fuze Software up to 2GB and it is ok on windows xp.
-
Ok so its not something we broke recently.
-
is the first time that I use in my Fuze a uSD.
This is the uSD debug:
[microSD 1] Not Found!
-
You can not do something to try to run this card?
-
Try again with the latest build. There was recently a fix that may have improved the ability of some MicroSD cards to work in some AMS based digital audio players.
-
I recently did a fix for AMSv2 players (ClipV2, FuzeV2, Clip+) that solved some microSD problems that seem to occur especially with 16GB and 32 GB cards. The FuzeV1 is an AMSv1 player, which uses a different driver, nothing sd card related got fixed for that recently.
The problem with the AMSv2 players was during card initialisation. The problem with your card seems to happen during data read, so it's probably not the same kind of problem.
Please open a bug report for this on our bug tracker and describe your problem and symptoms there as exactly as possible.
The uSD debug info you gave seems to be the info for the internal flash memory, not the external uSD card, because it says "SD02G" (=2 GB) and has a rather old production date 3/2006. So there's no need to include this information in the bug report.

You are right. [microSD 1] Not Found!
I opened the bug report (http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/11840?string=panic&project=1&search_name=&type%5B0%5D=2&sev%5B0%5D=&pri%5B0%5D=&due%5B0%5D=&reported%5B0%5D=&cat%5B0%5D=&status%5B0%5D=open&percent%5B0%5D=&opened=&dev=&closed=&duedatefrom=&duedateto=&changedfrom=&changedto=&openedfrom=&openedto=&closedfrom=&closedto=).

No news? :'(

Have patience. Everyone here works on things voluntarily in their spare time.

Hi,
I confirm the exact same issue with 32GB kingston class 4 microSD and fuze V1
Works good on OF and can't be mounted by RockBox (3.8.1).

Can you try it with a current build? A work-around has been committed in the current build that is not in 3.8.1. To try a current build, just go to 'current build', select your player and unzip the zip file to your player.
Please report the result in FS#11840 ( http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/11840 )

Hi bertrik,
Sorry for the delay, I tested with current build and it fixes the issue.
My 32GB uSD card now perfectly recognized.
Many thanks,
Seb
