Before I begin, I'd like to say that I have indeed read over the FAQ's/Manual and wiki, as well as having searched these forums.
I am using the latest version of Rockbox bootloader and program, on an iRiver340
My issue is that I have game boy files (.gb and one or two .gbc files) and I am unable to play/view them. I've stored them under /games/gb/
When I navigate to the /games/gb folder, the files are not shown. When I change the file viewing to allow all files to be viewed, I can see the .gb and .gba files, but am not able to select them with the NAVI button, and pressing the play button resumes my playlist. I've even gone so far to rename one of the files to .rom (I saw a moderator mention .rom files in another post) to no avail.
I understand that there is no plugin to launch the gameboy files, and I'm wondering why the viewer isn't spawned when I select my .gb file.
I'm new to using this software but I'm very impressed with it so far, this has been my only hinderance. I appologize if this is easily answered, but I honestly couldn't find my answer in the (ample) documentation provided.
Thanks in advance for whatever help you can give me.
Rock On! ;D

Are you sure the extensions on them are .gb or .gbc, and NOT .gba or anything else?
Also, your viewers.config has lines for .gb and .gbc in it? They should look like this:
gb,viewers/rockboy, 0C 2A 59 7A 2E 0C

I'm sorry, there was a single mention of a .gba file in my initial post. This is a typo. All files are of .gb or .gbc extension, and no GameBoy advance roms are being used. I understand they are not supported due to the speed on the player.
Re: your response
I've found a file named /.rockbox/viewers/viewer.cfg
Is this file encoded? I'm not able to view it.
user@host:/mnt/usb/.rockbox$ cat /mnt/usb/.rockbox/viewers/viewer.cfg
user@host:/mnt/usb/.rockbox$
I'm not seeing any lines like the one you pasted. Could the fact I installed a theme (iCatcher if I remember correctly) have something to do with it?
I'll refer to the original rockbox .zip file, and see if the viewer.cfg file there is any different from the one I'm using, and report back if it is.
Thank you for your speedy response Llorean!

The file you're looking for is "viewers.config" not "viewer.cfg" (Are you sure you don't mean viewer.rock, there?)
It should be /.rockbox/viewers.config

Hey again!
The issue was that I had deleted the viewers.config file
I had a bunch of .iriver firmwares and I guess it got caught in my selection.
It's replaced now.
Thanks again, and sorry for my stupidity... Hopefully this post will be useful to the other people that post about the Rockboy "not working"
