Title: H340 CFMod - Recording & CF Card Write Speeds
Post by: mozetti on April 25, 2010, 03:27:07 PM
Hey everyone.

My H340 HDD finally quit on me. I bought a decent set of binaural mics a couple years ago and have really enjoyed using them. I want to do the CFMod to get it back to life so that I can continue recording live concerts (the ones that permit taping). Before I buy a CF Card, I want to make sure I won't run into any problems recording to uncompressed .wav because of slow write speeds.

Does anyone have any experience with an 8,16, or 32 GB CF Card that works well recording uncompressed .wav? Any examples of where it didn't work?

Or am I worrying about nothing and any decent card is going to be able to write fast enough for using the H340 as a recorder?

Thanks for your help.

there is a thread on taperssection.com where people sometimes post success or failure (not always the card's fault).

BUT: in order to do the CF mod, you need another bootloader since the last official one doesn't contain the needed changes. So, you have to be able to flash your h300 by booting from HDD. Is your hdd really broken, and if so, can you lend one to do the flashing?
