Title: ipod Classic 6g, edit theme to display unicode properly?
Post by: bartimeaus on April 26, 2018, 03:30:18 PM
There's this skin called iclassic-square that I'm trying to get working with unicode but it just simply doesn't work.

I'm having issues with songs properly showing asian characters. I've set codepage to unicode, I've tried using the 18-FIXED font. All I managed to do was to display the song/filename with asian characters, but on the playing screen, I get the square boxes in the places where I assume the metadata is being shown.

I've already used mp3tag to ensure the tags are in UTF-8

According to http://rasher.dk/rockbox/fontstats/, 18-FIXED doesn't seem to have that much coverage.

I'd recommend trying with 16-GNU-UNIFONT first and only looking at other fonts when you get things working with that.

Is there a way to resize the fonts? Such as making 16-GNU-UNIFONT into 20?
