Title: Cayin N3
Post by: Breadmann on July 19, 2017, 03:11:51 PM
Hello guys!! First of all I have to say I love your software and deeply respect what you're doing, keep up the wonderful work. Well, my story is quite simple; I had an old iPod with Rockbox on it that finally bit the dust, and had to get a new player. I acquired the Cayin N3 which I mostly love, the sound quality is superb, huge storage capacity, plays FLAC, all that stuff. However, the Hiby firmware is decent at best; I understand it being a bit difficult to manage a large library and stuff but not having the option to at least search by genre and the like is not so great, it's pretty much point to a folder and hit play. I'd love to have the amazing Rockbox experience again! Of course I understand this requires a lot of work and takes a lot of time, just putting the suggestion out there. Thanks!!

The minimum to get people interested would be some information about the hardware like the CPU. Ideally disassemble the player and take pictures of the PCB.

EDIT: based on the 1.1 firmware available from the manufacturer, this thing is running linux on the ingenic X1000 soc, so very similar to AGPTek Rocker.
