Title: Error reading partition table - possibly not an Ipod
Post by: Hanoko on December 31, 2010, 08:25:28 AM
When I install the bootloader it says Error reading partition table - possibly not an Ipod. But when I install Rockbox it installs perfectly. I have an Ipod 3rd Generation 4GB. I have tried restoring it but it doesn't works.

There is another extrange thing, when I insert my Ipod my computer lets me see my Ipod when it is not in disk mode.

What can I do?

Sorry about my english, i'm spanish

I'm having the same issue, only with a 5th generation silver 16GB ("video").
I've ensured that the device has been correctly restored through iTunes, so I'm not quite sure what the problem is.

Also, congratulations on your English, OP; it's better than most people I know.

Edit: noticed this is a somewhat serious gravedig; sorry if I've disturbed anyone.

There is no 16GB Ipod Video.  Like the original poster, you've probably got a Nano 5G rather then a Video.
