i'm good with comps and everything its just Rockbox confuses the crap out of me...if anyone would take the time out of their busy schedules it would be greatly aprreciated ;D
-
You do realize you didn't even ask a question?
I suggest reading the manual, and then asking specific questions about things you don't understand.
-
well a question might help...thanx...forgot about that part...i have a 30G Video and i downloaded the rockbox software and the iPod thing wasn't on there it was talking about Jukeboxes and stuff...then i tried downloading the latest iPod Video download thing...heck i don't even know what Rockbox does...i saw it on a forum one day people were saying it can put games and it changes the firmware and stuff...but anyways i wanna change the fonts and the pics and the colors and stuff on my iPod games would be nice too...any suggestions
-
My first suggestion is to actually read the manual, as it's got help getting started. Rockbox is a replacement firmware. It doesn't change the existing one, it's an alternative you can boot into.
-
I assume you paid somewhere around $250 for your iPod, why would you want to load something on it that you had no idea what it did?
Like Llorean said, read the manual. But if you "want to play games on your ipod" you'll likely be a bit disappointed. This is a firmware to play music, that happens to include some games.
-
i'm reaing the manual i did the whole download everything and stuff...then i finally went to the command menu and typed in the ipodpatcher 1 and i went through 101 so i kinda got mad and stopped and came back here....now what?
-
Was your iPod connected and in disk mode when you did this?
-
i find it very hard to believe that you are "good with comps and everything"
-
Accel, I repeat, please don't post simply to antagonize people.
-
you might find the installer http://www.ipodwizard.net/showthread.php?t=8585
a little easier to use. Note that it is not a Rockbox creation so if you need help with it you should ask there (after reading throught the faqs and previous posts). I haven't used it myself but by all accounts it works pretty well providing you read the instructions.
When you first get Rockbox running, you won't like it as the interface initially looks small and pretty crappy. But it is configurable using WPS (what's playing screens) and themes - see http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/WpsGallery for some themes others have created that you can download. The manual explains how to use them.
You'll probably also have a bit of a problem finding your music - read the tag cache section of the manual and search the forum for previous tag cache posts.
Good luck and don't give up, Rockbox is worth the little effort it takes to get it set up.

hellnick, I am pretty good with rockbox, I am even creating my own WPS, but I had no idea what WPS stood for, thank you for posting that!
What's Playing Screen, so simple.
-
Actually it's "While Playing Screen"
-
And if you're creating your own WPS, I guess you looked on the wiki for instructions? I believe it says it there too.
back OT: matrix_stuff, you don't need to go past 21, because then you're doing something very wrong... Be sure to have your iPod in diskmode when it's plugged in to the computer.

was never any good with TLA...
