Title: connecting sansa clip+ without USB.
Post by: heinkel on August 31, 2017, 10:39:38 AM
Hello,
how to connect sansa clip+ without usb connection to PC, because USB won't work. I had this problem for long, but i formatted the whole player and rockbox is gone, expected that this would fix usb problem. What I want is some schematics for soldering if possible to the memory chip, something like JTAG. If there is any.
Thank you

If you formatted, the USB bootloader mode should still work.  I think you hold the center button when booting to use it.

It might be possible to use JTAG, but no one has looked into that.

Sansa's clip+ usb is just messed up. Computer won't recognise, and afterwards it doesn't apper in device mangar like it's gone. But charges fine.

When booting with USB connected the sansa displays "bootloader USB mode". I can't connect to pc with stock firmware. I had this problem before, i just used my micro sd adapater to transfer files. This problem was not important until I formatted it. :\

I get this error: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"

Try a different computer and see if you can get it to work there.  As far as I know there is no way to fix the device without USB.

Windows 7, sometimes connects gives error 43
XP, connects with stock (shows connected animation) and bootdevice, but not recognized (no drivers error)
Mac, nothing just charging.

Probably I'm screwed :D.

well I think i'd try with linux a vm at the very least, and maybe you could pull the enable pin on the nand at the right time, ie after rb loads the bootloader but before it loads the firmware to get the bootloader to not enumerate the internal drive and go on to the sd card but even in theory the timing would be tight and its only a theory, but hey what do you have to lose??? you might even set up a microcontroller or a 555 time with a small delay so it is adjustable + repeatable other than that IDK maybe resolder the usb? I wish the OF had renaming capabilities then we could load a file with the microphone or something

I will try to figure out NAND pinout and solder to micro sd card reader. Stock firmware on this player is just awful. Can't support 32GB, poor battery life... :\
