Title: ZXBox - games that works?
Post by: Mr_Rabid_Teddybear on February 03, 2007, 09:54:01 PM
I might not have understood this correctly, but I downloaded a few games from the page suggested at the plugins wiki page
http://www.worldofspectrum.org/archive.html
but all I get is a percentage counter in the upper left corner counting up to something like 82% and after 20 minutes I give up. Are there certain games that are known to be working well with ZXBox, or is there something I have completely missed here in terms of how this is supposed to work, or of what I have to do to achieve this...?? I only wanted to try out one or another game in order to see what this was all about, it's no big deal.....

I have a H340, BTW...

You were probably trying tape formats (tzx, tap) which need several minutes to load the game from a virtual tape. I recommend you trying snapshots of the games instead (sna, z80 ...).

Here are some games which work in tzx format on my H120:

3D Deathchase
Chuckie Egg
Jet Set Willy
Jumping Jack
Manic Miner
Rebelstar

... yeah, I'm sorry to jump in, but what's this stuff?

I'm always willing to increase my gaming library, but these seem different from ROMS...

Which of these do I download (file format, not a game, per se. If you would reccomend some good games, though, that'll be nice) and what do I do with 'em? (a link to the manual would be cool too)

EDIT- Sorry, I have a 30g Ipod
