Very nice ;) Quite impressed with this theme's longevity.
By the way, I think the forum rules point out that you should link to the wiki, and not rapidshare.

I havent added it to the wiki yet, so what are the rules for that? I just wanted ideas on it before I put it up there. Ill take the link down however.

I'm working on an Album art version of theme X, and it's been suggest that it would be nice to have a set of appropriately themed icons to go along with theme X. Something dark, techy and with a blue glow, of course. I *might* look into it this weekend or next, but skills in GIMP are limited, and I haven't learned how to write .icons files yet.
I could always search around Deviant-art, KDE-look and GNOME-look are good places for GNU/free/CC iconsets.

If you've used GIMP or Photoshop on this WPS I'd like to make a request for the file, This theme could easily be made into a themepack. (similar to jclix or jblackglass) I think this would be really cool as theme X is compatible with the current build no patches required. There is no really good themepacks for the current build, Aardvark is kinda boring and cluttered, Rockblocks has an ugly WPS (IMHO) so I think it would be quite nice to have a Theme X themepack (extra incentive to make some custom icons)

dang I wish you asked when I had photoshop open. I didnt save the PSD.
Ill make a new one tommorrow when I get the patience

you don't save your PSD's ? you daredevil ;) no matter how "done" a theme is I've found it useful to keep everything you used to make it (or at the very least, the PSD)

Why would I do something right the first time and save time later ;D
-
i've got an album art version of this that i made quite a while back, but i never uploaded it. perhaps i should dig it up again.
-
there isn't any theme packs for the current build? might explain my troubles..although i did manage to get a themepack working
dockpod aqua seems to work great on my ipod5g now
i did a lot of fiddling, so i may be wrong about how i got it working
installed dockpod aqua and dockpod aqua remix
loaded the dockpod remix theme, then loaded the dockpod aqua theme, seemed to work for me
on a side note though, the time\date on the dockpod aqua theme is broken, with a little help from evil i manged to fix the broken code, display's fine now. although i've never been much for coding of any sort, so what i did to the code may cause other issue's i'm nto aware of, though i doubt it

Will, if your add code that upsets the WPS, the parser will throw an error, and instead use the rockbox default, so if this doesn't happen then you've done something right
-
lol, works for me, i could upload the .wps file i made if anyone wants it, think i still have some webspace kicking around somewhere
i also changed the clock to 12 hour time with a am\pm indicator
i wanted to add a day of the week section, but it's gonna be a while if i decide to do that, allt he icons on the bottom bar need to be moved. Working with pixels is all well and good, but without something to see what it would look like i'd have to do it by feel and check it on my ipod, it would be a consderable amount of time simply updateing and rebooting my ipod
i'll probably settle without it
it's nice to know that if things are wrong they simply don't work with this code though. all the other types of code i work with really throw a wrench in things sometimes (html for example, and varients of)

Why can't you use a simulator to test your WPS?
-
well, i looked at a few simulators, but the only one's i know of are linux
i don't have linux, i've toyed with it a few times, but when it comes down to it the games and programs i use only run well on windows (if guilds in WOW would start useing teamspeak over ventrilo i'd probably try to get wow running under linux, i hear it works well
if you know where a simulator is for windows i'd love one. i don't really know too much about this stuff, it's not my first time codeing, but i've never done much of it before, so it tends to be hit and miss

Will, I just uploaded a ipod 5G simulator for my latest Fusion build, check the unsupported builds forum. It works in windows, and comes with the required SDL.dll, you just have to throw it in your
C:\windows\system32 folder, then you can double-click rockboxui.exe or, run it through the command prompt like this
rockboxui.exe --background --debugwps
(you dont need to run --debugwps with --background)
background shows the controls, debugwps outputs debugging info in the command prompt, it will tell you how to fix a broken WPS an example of the output is this:
failed parsing on line 34: unclosed conditional

@ |2eM!x, just to divert this discussion back to your Theme X variant, I wanted to mention the fact that it would be great if you licensed your theme. I think the Creative Commons Attribution by Share Alike 3.0 is a good license to go with, though you can pick any one you want. Checkout the thread in the WPS forum for more info.

|2eM!x: If you licence your "Rocker"-Theme send me an mp so I would change licencepart of my iax5-remake of your theme.
