Title: Rockbox Error and Windows doesn't recognize the device
Post by: Grunt_Squat_Thurst on July 16, 2007, 05:51:44 AM
I was transferring files from my Gigabeat F to my hard drive. I accidentally cut the rockbox folder and now I get the following as an error.

FRAME 31fd6800 TTB 31FFC000
disk_mount_all: 1
Model
TOSHIBA MK4006GAH
Firmware
BY201A
Partition 0: 0x0c 38138 MB
Rockbox error: -1

When ever I connect it to my computer, Windows doesn't recognize the device.  If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it.

You probably have and old bootloader. If you hold MENU while it's booting you should get to the 'rescue mode'. Then you can connect to USB. After that update the bootloader and rockbox (look at the installation instructions).

And once you are hooked up to USB, you should follow the installation instructions for installing a Rockbox build to replace the .rockbox folder you deleted.

Thanks for the help. I am reinstalling rockbox now.
