Title: Rockflow problem!
Post by: DrulleB on April 22, 2008, 05:53:18 PM
Can someone please help?

I'm not completely familiar to the Rockbox forum way to post topics, so please forgive me for possible errors.

I just gotten to now know the rockbox firmware and I absolutely love it. But I have one small problem.
I have a iPod 5g and according to the forum and the extras section the Rockflow theme should work with the current build and now patches should be needed.

But after loading the Rockflow theme and the Flow theme several times I can't make them work as they should. All that showing when is song is being played, is a black background, a bar indicating song progress and two visualization bars. All others themes works great.

So my question is what have I done wrong?
How to fix?
Please be nice to noob.  ;)

I think the problem is that people write "works with the current build" when they post their themes and then disappear, forgetting to keep that statement up to date.

I believe (not having looked at the specific them) MarcGuay nailed it.
The theme is most likely out of date with current WPS syntax.
It appears you have two choices.
1 - Wait for someone to fix the theme (assuming the license allows distribution of a modified version).
2 - Attempt to fix it yourself.
The WPS syntax is fully documented, and not as difficult to follow as it might look at first glance.

but at least the date of upload can be read under every wiki entry.
