Title: Ipod Mini gen 1 can't play japanese songs in playlist.
Post by: MattHemm on June 08, 2019, 02:01:33 AM
I've got quite a few songs on my ipod that have japanese names. I have no trouble getting theses names to display, in the database, and the songs will play without issue. The trouble I run into is that when I try to play one of theses songs from a playlist, the player will simply skip over them. If I view the queue, I can see the japanese songs there, but have "(ERR)" next to them. I'm thinking that rockbox is incapable of reading anything outside the normal character set when it comes to playlists.

This is probably a unicode issue where the playlist software and rockbox don't agree on the codepage. Can you save the playlists as .m3u8?

Yes, I can save them as that format. I'll give it a try. Thanks!
