Title: Switching between audiobooks and music
Post by: Graham1 on May 13, 2016, 03:08:58 AM
Whilst commuting each day, I listen audiobooks on the train and music when on foot. Is it possible to bookmark where I last left off (chapter, time lapsed) and then return to this position at the end of the day for my return journey?

:)

I use "recent bookmarks" for this. You can tune bookmark settings (settings > general settings > bookmarking). My settings from  config.cfg:
autocreate bookmarks: recent only - on
autoupdate bookmarks: on
autoload bookmarks: on
use most-recent-bookmarks: unique only

Also very useful for audiobooks "rewind on pause" and "rewind before resume":
rewind duration on pause: 3
resume rewind: 3

P.S. You can find full description of all settings in manual.

Thanks for the advice. I will give that a try and consult the manual if needed.

Hi Mihail

I hope you can help me with this request :). I now have bookmarks enabled which is working well with my audiobooks but something I have noticed is that if I access bookmarks whilst the audiobook is playing/paused (context menu, bookmarks, list bookmarks), it seems to show (bookmark) every chapter I have listened to so far. Yet, if I go to "recent bookmarks" (main menu), it shows only the one (which I would expect it too). Is that correct? Should both lists match? Ideally, I only need the one listed.

Also, to bookmark my audiobook, do I need to keep switching the playing off? (long slide up). I think I read somewhere that pressing "stop" automatcailly bookmarks but all I seem to be able to do is pause or play. Am I missing something?

:)

Yes, it correct. You can set "Bookmark on Stop" to "Yes – Recent Only" and clean up bookmarks in context menu. In this case you will have automatically created bookmarks in  "recent bookmarks" and manually created - in context menu.

Yes bookmarks will be created at power off. But you also can stop track if press power button for short time (short slide up).

Thanks. I wasn't aware of using short slide up to stop a track. Very handy.
