Title: Uninstalling from Sansa Clip+
Post by: mobar1000 on July 27, 2013, 10:40:19 PM
I am trying to uninstall rockbox from my 8 GB Sansa Clip+ but i keep getting the message:

Rockbox Utility can not uninstall the bootloader on this target. Try a normal firmware update to remove the bootloader.

(I am using the 1.3.1 utility...) How can I remove rockbox from my device?

TIA
Joe

What happens when you try a normal firmware update ;)

You mean the sansa firmware or the rockbox?

Well, is there anything unclear about the message Rockbox Utility displays? It cannot uninstall the bootloader because uninstalling the bootloader requires flashing an unmodified Sandisk firmware image. Flashing a firmware image is done by the Sandisk firmware, neither Rockbox nor Rockbox Utility can do that for you. And flashing a firmware image is the same thing as performing a firmware upgrade. Even if the upgrade is the same version as the one already installed.
