Title: Always panic for Ipod 6th gen
Post by: WWWXXX on November 30, 2016, 08:55:07 PM
Hi all,

I am new here and just get a modified iPod 6th gen ;D, with RB version 7d11205-140918 (not sure how old this is, could be pretty old).
After playing a while I got a panic message like below:
        "*PANIC*
        dc_writeback_callback () - Could not write sector 2
        ...."
Then I have to force restarting it, it is ok to go to boot manual, however once I start RB and try to play songs or change settings, same message would pop again (different sectors of course).

I had a chance to check system info which shows 0bytes for caches, could this be the root of this issue?
Or should I update to a newer version? The problem is if I am trying to connect to my PC in RB, same message. Is there a way I can update manually without go into RB?
Or is this because the SSD was corrupted? Oh, yes it was replaced version.

Many thanks for your help.

The write to disk failed, which sounds bad.

Does the apple firmware work with the ssd?

When I get it, it was already installed RB so I am not sure how apple firmware works on it :-(

I guess the SSD is dead...
This was happening few weeks ago, then magically came back someday, that why I feel so wired.

I am sure that my ssd is good but have same problem.
When I powered my ipc it show this *panic* just seconds without any action.
