Just got rockbox running and like the layout, feel, and allot of the features. But have a problem with the audio. The output is clean but I cant seem to enable the EQ which doesnt bother me too bad. What bothers me is at Maximum volume my sansa doesnt put out the power to make a usuable signal for my home receiver hardly and I know it work for for my Pioneer HU in the truck. Any ideas?

Given the sound output has only just made it into the code base - expect some teething troubles.

With the latest build, I'm also having stuttery playback with volume maximized (and a shifting stereo output, left to right and vice versa, with Vorbis playback). I think all that's needed is more time for refinement. But this post is basically a "me too" to the OP and a call to anyone else having the stuttery playback problem.

I have found a little trick to make the output higher. Start a song, turn the volume all the way up, and restart the player. When you are ready to turn the player off, remember to turn the volume up to maximum, or the output will be low on subsequent startup.

The reason for the weak output is because of the drop-outs at higher volume - this is the DAC making sure that there is not too much current going through the headphones.
I need to spend some time finding out what the optimal settings are to be able to have as much volume as the original firmware.

Thanks, so it turns out they are related. ;)
I have to keep the volume below the current maximum available or else I have lots of stutters/dropouts. I thought it was a CPU load problem but it's apparently just a DAC safety feature.

Would this issue also cause the high range to be absent? Rockbox on my e260 completely fails at many higher-range sounds, like pretty much any vocals by a female lead. Volume doesn't seem to have any effect on it, and no amount of tweaking the sound settings does either.

just another "me too" post on this issue... (sound lo, traveling stereo, drop-outs) but it sure is nice to hear sound on rockboxsansa!

I have the same problem but in my sansa the things went out a little bad, rockbox made almost unusable my earphones but I bought a new pair, and also I removed rockbox,I'm not angry because I found a great cheap and durable headphones at less than 11 dollars.

Wait, you're saying Rockbox actually blew out your headphones?
First I've ever heard of an e200 doing that.

yes, rockbox blew out my headphones but I bought another pair,I'm going to use the original firmware,I'm not angry about the headphones
