Title: atrac(.rm) playback problem on iriver H120!
Post by: f_coco on October 14, 2009, 08:45:05 AM
I'm very happy to see the RB support for atrac playback. The codec status i have checked said the rm music file will be run efficient on H120. But i downloaded a track from here. http://samples.mplayerhq.hu/real/AC-atrc/KingOfTheJailhouse.rm
It seems the music get some pause at random time while play on H120 and the scroll get stuck while i click up or down. It just like the computer crashed when CPU overloaded.
Dose anyone know how to solve the problem?
Thanks in advance.

As far as I know ATRAC is not optimized enough for Coldfire processors, so you won't be able to use it on Hxxx players.

thanks for the answer!
i'm wondering if it is possible to optimize the code to ensure playback of atrac on coldfire?

It is possible, the CF processors are quite fast.  However it would take someone with a Coldfire based player and an interest in ATRAC3 to do it.
