Why bother opening up both batteries to swap out the wires and connectors?Wouldn't it be easier to just snip of the connector from the ipod battery and solder thewire with connector from the old gigabeat battery to the wires of the new ipod battery(covering the joints with heat shrink tubing)? If the extra wire length isn't a problem under the covers this way you don't have to open up the batteries, just change outthe connector / wires.
