I just read the 15-page argument between people who think the WPS should be the "lowest level" of Rockbox and people who like that the file browser is. For my own part I like the way it's set up now and would oppose a left-to-WPS option.
However, I saw someone in that thread say that the UI would be lot more intuitive if patch 5294 (which enables a quick-to-WPS button from everywhere in Rockbox) were included in the codebase. Several people agreed, and I do too.
So I'm wondering, why hasn't this patch been incorporated? I was unable to find any objections to it. What are they, if any? Besides the fact that it appears to be out of sync with SVN.
This would be a good stepping-stone to help people who are used to the iPod's navigation get used to the idea that the WPS is not the lowest level of Rockbox's UI. And then maybe that abomination of a thread can finally rest in peace.
