With sincerest gratitude to all you severe tech gurus out there, I humbly beseech your attention:
The original power supply for my unit developed a worn-out cord problem making it unreliable requiring me to use an after-market multi-voltage-selecting power supply. My mistake was not gluing the selection into place. As a result one day while connecting the unit to my PC and booting it, after several stupid attempts, it simply died and now refuses to spin, make it's booting sounds, etc.
When I do attach the correctly set power supply, the unit displays the power is connected but nothing works.
Being that I am not a mechanical or electrical engineer, I have no idea where exactly within the unit the trouble exists: could it be just within the electrical power connector or could the HDD be blown or what? Could I swap my unit's HDD into a different "working" and more current iRiver jukebox?
Any thoughts, opinions and most especially wisdom would be most appreciative.
Thanks a lot and Happy Holid-DAZE!
Eric
