The 2G iPod Nano has very different hardware. It may be quite some time before a compatible version is available.

P.ex.: I have VERY limited knowledge of C - and if I say "VERY limited", I mean it We need someone with cryptography experience (or a very good understanding of ARM assembly) to crack the encryption used in the Apple firmware. Then interested developers could start reverse engineering work by looking at Apple's firmware. Until someone does this, its unlikely that any progress will be made.Theres no need for anyone to open up their ipod, that wouldn't tell you much of anything useful at this point.
