I'm having some odd issues with loading EQ presets on my 5G iPod (8/31 build.) If nothing is playing or paused, it seems to work okay. If, however, I play a song and pause it, then try to load an EQ preset, it just says "loading" and locks up. I have to do a reboot to get it to unlock.
In other words, I can load an EQ preset if the song is STOPPED (hold "Play" button) and I THEN load the preset, but not if it's paused. I tried creating a new EQ preset to test this, but it did the same thing, so it's not a corrupted preset file.
On further investigation, I discovered that this issue depends on exactly which menu I try to load it from. If I hold down the center button, then select "Sound Settings," then "Equalizer," then "Browse EQ presets," I get the lockup. I also get the lockup if I use the "Menu" button to browse to the "Sound Settings" menu.
If, however, I hold down the center button and then go DIRECTLY to "Browse EQ presets" from this menu (bottom of menu), the preset loads normally, and the unit does NOT lockup. This behavior is repeatable on my unit -- as long as I use the "Browse EQ presets" from the FIRST menu after holding the "Select" button, it works fine. If I navigate to the "Browse EQ presets" page in any other way, I get the lockups when I try to load the same preset.
Has anyone else noticed this? Does anyone know if anything changed after the 8/31 build that might fix this?
Thanks,
Larry
