Custom or modify fonts?

Hi.
id like to be able to create my own fonts or at least edit the ones that come with rockbox. Ive tried opening them in Raster Font Editor (
http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Raster-Font-Editor-Download-28934.html
), but it gives an error when trying to open them, such as:
Cannot load font:
File is an invalid Font file or a un-supported font version.
Are they a special format? If so how can one create/edit them?
Cheers.

The fonts you download from the Rockbox download page are in a special Rockbox format. The source for them are regular BDF fonts though.
See
http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/CreateFonts
for more information about fonts and how to create them.
