While I was attempting to add new music to my clip zip, the device decided to crash, and corrupt the internal filesystem, causing it to become stuck at the bootloader 4.0 screen using rockbox and the flower boot screen on OF . fearing that I had bricked the device, I attempted to boot into USB bypass(?) mode by using the center button+ power, but due to the USB driver issues of rockbox, I have not successfully been able to check and repair the drive before it unmounts itself using windows. My next course of action was to attempt the same thing on Linux, where I was able to successfully have the system recognize it, but still gave errors when attempting to fully mount (dmesg reported "bogus number of reservered sectors" and "can't find valid FAT filesytem"). This allowed me to ensure that the internal system was not entirely bricked, as it still showed the correct amount of space for the drive( 3.7 GB) when I ran the lsblk command. I am now wondering what to do from here, as I can run fsck, which should remove the bad blocks found on the internal filesystem, but I am unsure if that would only make things worse. another option would be formatting, but that seems like even less of a good idea. Any advice on what to do next would be appreciated.
