Movies/series on Ipod classic 7th gen
« on: April 25, 2019, 07:38:20 PM »
Hello!
I'm new to using rockbox. I have successfully installed rockbox to my Ipod classic 7th gen.

I have put songs on it but I can't figure out how to put movies or tv series on there. I did find this post about MPEG player. It said to use VLC to convert the files using specific values and settings. I did use the settings provided by rockbox but when I put the newly converted file into my iPod and try to watch it, it says "unsupported format".

Could someone help me out here, what should I do to get movies and tv series onto my iPod? I would really appreciate any help I can get! I'm sure someone here has movies and tv series on their iPods.

Thank you!

What settings did you use?  Sounds like some of them weren't correct.

Hey, thanks for responding so quickly!

I used these settings;

Encapsulation: MPEG-PS

Video codec: Codec MPEG-2, width 320, height 240, scale not set to anything, bitrate 0, frame rate 0.

Audio codec: Codec MP3, bitrate 128, channels 2, samplerate 44100.

After pressing start and the video was done converting, all i did was put it in a folder on my iPod. Not sure if I missed something.

The iPod classic has the same screen dimensions as the iPod Video, so the setting will be the same. Check https://www.rockbox.org/wiki/PluginMpegplayer#How_To_Encode_Files
