Ipod Video 5.5 stable vs Ipod Classic 7.5 unstable
(1/1)
Pommes:
Hi,
i have both Ipod Video and Ipod Classic modded with Tarkan MicroSDQuad 800 gb.
I noticed that the classic is much much faster when it comes to transfering music, building the database and creating large playlists etc.
But i had problems with the classic to build the database, so only after the 2nd or third attempt it finished writing it.
With the video i have the problem that it continiously accesses the SD cards , if i have library cache enabled.
Also Database to ram takes a much longer access time than on the classic.
So if i had to choose one, which one should i keep?
I like the classic by far better, but what does unstable really mean? What are the bugs, why it is called unstable compared to the ipod video?
saratoga:
The classic is unstat because the installer hasn't been merged.
Pommes:
Thank you,
but i dont know what exactly does that mean?
So if i have it installed, there shouldnt be any issues at all?
__builtin:
It means that the official Rockbox Utility doesn't currently support automatic bootloader installation, though there is a modified rbutil available for download.
The port is mostly functional from a user standpoint.
Pommes:
Thank you __builtin,
the utility is what i used to get the bootloader onto the classic.
as i said, it works much faster than the video, so i guess i will keep the classic.
