iPod classic 6th Gen LBA28 how to exceed 128gb limit?

(1/2) > >>

bartimeaus:
I have an iPod classic 6th generation (80gb version). I've upgraded to an iFlash quad.

I'm trying to use more than 128gb worth of memory with both dual boot default iPod OS and rockbox, does anyone know how I can do this?

saratoga:
I don't think that is possible.

You probably don't want more than 128GB anyway since those adapters don't work well with rockbox.

bartimeaus:
So with dualboot I'm stuck with 128gb? But if I only boot rockbox I can exceed 128gb?

saratoga:
You can try, but it probably won't work well.

An other option besides iFlash adapters: As far as I know, the 128GB iTunes limit doesn't apply to the 160GB harddrive with a CE-ATA interface. You will need a suitable ribbon cable and a thick backplate for this.
