iPod 4th gen (b&w) buttons temporarily unresponsive after deactivating "hold"

(1/1)

chris_s:
Can anyone verify the following behavior on the latest release version of Rockbox, as well as on ef373c0-180116?

Almost always, after I had the hold/lock function activated, once I deactivate it using the slider on top of the device, the first few presses of any buttons are then ignored until I either scroll slightly using the scrollwheel or have pressed some button a bunch of times. The first three presses are usually ignored after which all buttons become responsive again. Turning the scroll wheel also seems to reliably get all buttons to become instantly responsive. But you can't, for example, pause playing music by simply deactivating "hold" and pressing play/pause once.

It might work correctly on occasion, possibly the first time or so after a reboot, but usually not anymore after that.

Thanks!

So apparently this issue has existed for an eternity...   :-\

A few patches were proposed to fix the issue but apparently never accepted? I wonder if any of them would still work in the context of the current source. May just have to try my hand at building Rockbox from source one of these days...    :P

This patch does indeed seem to fix it...  :)  :)
