Will emCore to "RockBox Bootloader" upgrade wipe my ipod's harddrive?

(1/1)

enthusiasm:
I want to update to the latest Rockbox and move to the iLoader Rockbox bootloader.

Before I do, I would like to know if my ipod's harddrive will need to be wiped in the process.

Could someone who has done this upgrade (emCore to 'Rockbox Bootloader') let us all know if reformatting or wiping the ipod's harddrive will be required?

EDIT: Originially This was titled "Will emCore to iLoader update wipe my ipod's harddrive? iPod Classic 6G 80GB" because I thought the new (2017) emCore replacement was named iLoader. I meant "the Rockbox bootloader"

__builtin:
iLoader? Isn't that like a decade old?

enthusiasm:
Ah, I meant the Rockbox Bootloader for the classic iPod 6G.  I thought the new bootloader (2017) that replaced emCore was "iLoader". I'm probably wrong. I'll change the thread title.
