About hold vol key to skip track function
« on: March 14, 2017, 01:23:57 PM »
Sansa Fuze+ has a touchpad instead of hardware keys. When I using it while doing sports or walking it's difficult for me to operate the device. I made this patch http://gerrit.rockbox.org/r/1575 which enable long pressing vol key to skip track(like smartphone). However this will make long press vol quick increase/decrease volume invalid. I want to know your opinion. Sorry I'm not familiar with Rockbox's codes but I would appreciate if someone could help adding a system setting for this function.
Sorry for my bad English.

I don't think it's a good idea to interfere with normal volume changes.

Perhaps you could modify it to skip when you hold both the up and down volume buttons. This wouldn't let you skip backwards, though.

The best way to do this would be to enable that a double press on the up volume skips a track and a a double press on the down volume goes back a track. This way it would not interfere with normal volume operation.
