Sansa Fuze+I've used Rockbox for the last couple of years and preferred it to the original firmware. Now I'm going to sell the Fuze+ and want the device to boot directly to the original firmware without using the [volume-down] dual-boot trick. Basically I want Rockbox completely removed.
The problem is I can't get the Fuze+ to re-flash the original firmware file "firmware.sb". I downloaded the file directly from Sandisk and put it in the uppermost directory of the Fuze+ then rebooted to the original firmware. No flashing occurs. The device just runs the original firmware.
The Rockbox utility can't remove the bootloader on this device. Rockbox functions normally and I can dual-boot into the original firmware when desired. I just can't get the device to flash a copy of the original, unmodified factory firmware so the Rockbox bootloader is overwritten.
Consulting the online Rockbox manual for the Fuze+ has not been helpful as the procedure to revert to the original firmware doesn't work as advertised.
What can I try next, please?
