Rockbox config file has to be saved in unix standard - mention in the manual pls
« on: December 14, 2012, 06:07:59 PM »
Hello Everybody,

I am using Rockbox on several iRiver H10.
Recently I installed it on an iRiver H10 Pure which is without FM Radio. Therefore I wanted to exclude the "FM Radio" entry from the main menu of Rockbox on this player. To achieve this I had to modify the config file of the player. With the help of two helpful and competent people I managed finally to successfully modifying the config file of my player in a way that is working.
I learned by doing this that the 'new line' command in the cfg file has to be according to the Unix standard - which is only <LF> - and not according to the Windows standard - which is <CR><LF>.

My request and recommendation is, to add this information in the Rockbox manual in chapter 13.1 - where editing the cfg file is discussed.

See this forum entry for more information:

Regards,
Anton

If that happens, it's a bug. Rockbox is supposed to support either line ending, in all places.
