Hi, hoping a kind person can help me out here. When I plug in via usb, as soon as the player is detected, my usb mouse and usb keyboard become disabled and can only be recovered via forced reboot of the computer.
Only thing I have tried is to set USB HID device to "no". Makes no difference. I can't find any other potential solutions.
I should also note that I recently reformatted my hard drive (winxp) and this is the first time I have plugged the player in to it. Had no issues before reformatting. Dummy question, but isn't it recognized as a generic drive? I don't recall needing to install any kind of drivers before.
I simply need to access / explore the files on it and copy some stuff to my computer.
thanks for the help

Also to clarify: I can't install Rockbox Utility, as it requires the ipod to be connected to even install.
Am I wrong about the generic drive thing? I guess a factory ipod is not recognized as such, is it. I'm not sure as I have never used this or any ipod without Rockbox.
And by the way, this problem occurs either way, whether I boot the ipod to Rockbox or to the factory firmware.
