Rockbox Ports are now being developed for various digital audio players!
I was wondering if there are plans to make it so we can charge the ipod via USB whille listening. That would be handy. As of now, if I plug the usb cable into the ipod and into a computer or the usb charging plug from Apple, the unit reboots and if its attached to a computer it goes into disk mode, or if its attached to the USB charger cable, it just goes to a screen with a usb plug symbol on it and I can't get to any menus. Thanks again to the developers for all their hard work!
I found out that when I plug in an external USB charger on a Rockbox based iPod the iPod reboots and keeps rebooting until I unplug the charger. With the original Apple firmware this problem does not occur.Holding the MENU button (as I read in this topic) while plugging in prevents this but is it still charging ?Anyone familiar with this problem ?Klaas
LINUXSTBJust curious - is there somewhere that that information was posted? I am just wondering cuz maybe there is a "tips & tricks" area or faq that I have missed? thx.
I think when one connects the iPod to a PC you are right this is really very useful to keep listening to music. But when connecting to an external USB power supply I don't think it is a 'function' that the iPod repeatedly reboots.Maybe Rockbox cannot detect whether the iPod is connected to a power supply or a computer ?Furthermore Rockbox is great software !
