Pictureflow Integration in WPS
« on: June 10, 2010, 03:28:45 AM »
Hi.

I saw that Pictureflow Integration is in the SVN now.
Trying to understand the functionality by reading FS #11270 I was sorry to read  that I have to use a hotkey. As I know the Cowon D2 does not have any hotkey.
While it's possible for the D2 to jump directly into the While playing screen by configuring the WPS Integration option of the pictureflow plugin to Direct, it's impossible to get back without clicking through all the menus plugin-demos-pictureflow...

Wouldn't it be possible to add a new parameter to the %T tag, e.g. "pictureflow" with the functionality of the missing hotkey to enable a direct jump back to the pictureflow plugin?

I think this could be great for all touchscreen devices to get a comfortable way to slide through your albums via pictureflow.

Your thoughts?

r26740 adds a "hotkey" action to touchregions which should work

Thanks for this real quick reply.

I tested it but on the D2 nothing happens while using this parameter.
I have no errors on my player but nothing happens by pressing the assigned touchscreen area.

I changed the browse functionality in my AF_Metal theme with the hotkey feature:

Code: [Select]
# Menu Button
%V(273,129,44,42,0)%Vf(CCCCCC)%Vb(000000)
%T(0,0,37,39,hotkey)
%T(0,0,37,39,&menu)

The longpress still works the click does nothing...

Maybe because of missing the hotkey function on the D2?
I saw in the Ipod Video manual that normally there is a hotkey configuration possible  through general settings-...
This does not exists on my D2. But I saw too that the hotkey is assigned to the playlist by default. So I expected to see the playlist but nothing happened.

wow - the first steps are working:
got the new hotkey configuration menu and set it to pictureflow.
Then went to WPS and pressed the button - jumped to pictureflow. Great.

Now pictureflow seems to switch to 3x3 mode. ok - would be better to have it in absolute mode.

Go to the settings by pressing left top area to go to the configuration menu: ups - black background and blue letters only the highlighted lines are shown. Hmm.

Go to WPS integration and swith it to via tracklist and ....
wow I am able to select albums, see the tracklist select one (selecting is the mddle area of the screen and scrolling is middle-top and middle-bottom) and:
Surprise - I am jumping to WPS and the selected track is playing. Great.

Thanks a lot for these quick solutions.

I think for the future we have some issues here:
- controlling pictureflow via absolute mode
- setting the background colour and the character colour in the pictureflow configuration menu or much better through the theme.cfg file
- and (if it is possible): resizing the pictureflow area to a predefined size which is given in the theme.cfg file "ui:" or in the .sbs file %Vi(...). So it would be possible to define the same custom statusbars as in the sbs-files.

By the way: with this release I have a bug which comes and goes through the releases. The sound only works when I switch the player on and when the first rockbox screen is shown I have to switch to Hold-Mode. When WPS is shown I am able to leave the Hold Mode and the sound works. Without Hold during the power on phase leads to a silent player...

Anyway:
thanks for this great job, JdGordon.
