So I started digging around Rockbox source, and I made an astonishing discovery for myself: its not Linux.
Anyway that explains a lot in terms of why porting visual stuff is just a bit harder than it could have been.
...
So in order for a visualization to be interesting/exciting, the sound has to affect the visual output.
I made a quick demo of that by modifying fire.c and generating the fire seed using pcm_calculate_peaks.
The result is quite psychedelic, I sat about an hour staring at it as Straits played in the background.
I might record a video of it in action, however I'm not sure how I would go about recording sound.
Now I would like to draw the fire demo on the main playback screen (without the button controls for the plugin, as they are no longer needed).
Where is the main screen refresh loop of the playback screen and in which file do I find it? Any suggestions about how I should go about making this or what other visual "catalyst" I can use besides pcm_calculate_peaks?
