Well actually this is not mentioned in the ipod3g manual in the quick start so I'm guessing it can't do it
, and pressing menu while plugging the ipod in does not work for me on the ipod3g (I read this in the ipod color manual). Even if I boot the ipod up into rockbox while plugged in it instantly reboots to diskmode.
Will I have to use the same trick I used with the the apple firmware where I disabled a specific firewire port so it didn't connect? (I did this so I could play and charge at the same time). My device is firewire only it does not charge from USB although it can connect from USB.
Pressing menu while plugged in while booting up seems to load the apple firmware then it crashes instantly, dunno if this is a bug with apples firmware.
So I'm stuck any suggestions? I'm pretty sure older versions of rockbox didn't reboot on connect but it has been bugging me for a while now
.
