"failed to add Bootloader"
« on: July 15, 2008, 12:11:23 AM »
Alright, so I have been running Rockbox on my Sansa e250 for about two or three weeks now and it has been working flawlessly up until about two days ago when it would tell me right after I chose a song something that popped up and went away too quickly for me to read.

Today it completely screwed up. Every time I chose a song it said there was some sort of error doing something with the playlist and I had to remove RB, unfortunately.

Now I am trying to put it back on and when I attempt to put the bootloader on, it says "failed to add Bootloader."

Any suggestions?

My guess is -- as you don't tell the specific playlist error you experienced -- that the playlist control file was messed up, so manually deleting it would have been sufficient. But as you don't tell any details I can't say that for sure. Still, I'm pretty sure that you didn't have to remove Rockbox at all. Writing down error messages helps greatly when seeking for help.

How did you remove Rockbox? How are you trying to reinstall?

Well, after much time swearing and working with it, it finally installed the bootloader and Rockbox. It's working fine from what I can tell.

Thank you anyway for your help.

If it ever happens again, I'll be sure to try that.

And I meant to write the message down, but it kept going away too quickly for me to be able to write it down.
