Hey folks. I heard about Rockbox recently, so I thought I'd give it a try on my 80GB iPod video. I loved the interface and all the cool applications and look and all, but I have a problem databasing my music.
It gets to what I believe is the end, and then the screen goes black except for the error message "Undefined Instruction at FFFFFFFF (0)." I correctly installed the 80GB version of Rockbox. Someone on IRC told me to try it with the 30GB version, which unfortunately gives me the same error. Then everyone went to sleep, so I came here. Can anyone help me with this problem?
P.S- I can manually play songs by selecting them from the files menu, but that sucks because they're all titled by iTunes like 'ABBS' or whatever.
Edit- I just realised that it was counting up to about 10,000 audio files before doing it's error... but I only have about 3 thousand songs...
Edit- Okay, I got some help from IRC with this issue. What I did (to make it real easy) was this-
Start -> Run -> cmd
in the command window I typed
"chkdsk h: /f"
"h" refers to my drive letter, if your is different, change it appropriately, obviously.
This scanned my ipod disk and fixed whatever errors it found. Cleared my problems right up. I'm sure that was unnecessary detail for many of you, but I figured I'd leave as little guesswork as possible for the future. Thanks for your help #rockbox!
