Movie converting problem
«
on:

Ok so I've got an Ipod nano 1G 2GB, im trying to convert videos to play on rockbox. I installed WinFF 0.31 cause i couldnt find the 0.29 and i replaced the presets in the Application data so i can see the right presets but when i tried to convert an .avi file it converted the music really good but there was no movie... I tried with MediaCoder too but that gave me the same result.. what can i do to make it work??

Have you tried converting with VideoLAN yet? Download it and give it a whirl.
Info about VLC can be found on the
PluginMpegplayer
page.

"Open a command line prompt and go to the VLC installation directory (default is C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\ ). Run the following command line:
vlc < input > --sout=#transcode{vcodec=mp2v,vb=600,width=
,height=
,acodec=mp3,ab=128,samplerate=44100,audio-sync}:std{access=file,mux=ps,url=
.mpg }"
ok i got till the < input > what do i put there?

Here, use this batch file instead.
Rename the extention from .txt to .bat, then you can just drag and drop videos onto it to convert them.

AVI is a container format for other video encodings, such as DivX or XviD. I've used that batch file on DivX-encoded AVIs before, and have had good results each time.
Try a different file and see if it works.

No double or tripling posting is allowed on the forums. If you have something else to say and no one has responded, just go back and edit your previous post.
Sounds like the videos aren't playing fast enough. Go into the main menu on Mpegplayer (hit MENU), and enable Limit FPS and Skip Frames. That should keep the audio and video in sync.
The manual explains all of this, so it's recommended that you either keep a copy of the manual on hand to answer certain questions, or search the forums as well, because I'm more than certain this was asked once or twice before.

We require the use of complete words on these forums (e.g. "thanks" instead of "tnx"). Please read the
Rockbox Forum Guidelines
.
Usually you edit the batch file then save it before dragging the file you want to convert onto it. In this case it's clear that the settings will be saved. In this case it doesn't look like you altered the batch file in any way, so I'm not sure what settings you think will not be saved.
