The battery was at 65%. Anyways, I HIGHLY doubt it was a problem with the battery itself, the connection as Chronon says seems much more likely. Besides, the battery won't charge anyways. If it was charging, it would mean my problem is fixed ^^.

If the battery is very low, it sometimes may not display anything on the screen until it reaches a certain threshold charge level. It is worth trying to charge it for a couple of hours and then try the reset procedure (turn the "hold" switch on and the off again, and then press and hold Menu and Select simultaneously).
