Hello I recently bought a new iPod to use with Rockbox, and I have a few questions regarding a few things.
First off i've viewed the wiki, and searched the forum for answers before hand, and I couldn't get the answers I seeked. If I accidently skipped over a thread or wiki page, please point me in the right direction.
My first question regard Album Art. My music collection is quite big, and I have album art for most of it saved already, but it's all saved as cover.jpg and usually 500pixels or bigger. I have downloaded a number of programs but they all seem to lack the ability to search for my album art and resize them all automatically to the size that rockbox uses for iPods, and converts to BMP.
So am I forced to manually resize every individual piece of album art I have? Is there a program that scans my empty folders and automatically downloads that album art to a certain pixel size and BMP format?
My other question regarded video. I have tried several programs (WinFF and MediaCoder seemed to be the easier to use), and followed proper instructions but everytime I succesfully convert a video to .mpg or mpeg2 the audio is there, but the video is covered in artifacts and looks terrible. What is the recommended video converter? Also how do you install and run ffmpeg? It's just a dos command prompt that disappears after i run it.
My last question regards overall performance. I know the iPod video uses a hard drive so things can be slow, but sometimes switching tracks can seem to take longer than it really should. Are there any tips for how I can increase overall performance for Rockbox?
Thanks!
